— A Preface to Our Upcoming Article Series
By NevadaChinesePerspective.Org
Have you ever thought about installing a solar system for your home?
Maybe you’ve considered it. Maybe you’ve already done it. Or maybe you’re still unsure. Some people proudly share screenshots of electric bills turning negative, while others complain about complicated procedures, slow payback, and shifting policies.
What seems like a purely technical question actually touches on something much deeper than just monthly utility costs.

As we began to dig beneath the surface of the question “Should I go solar?”, the answers got more complex—and more structural:
Why don’t utility companies always support residential solar?
Why do net metering policies keep shifting?
Why do some call this a green energy revolution, while others see it as a game of privilege?
If federal tax credits disappear, is solar still worth it?
And fundamentally: Who should solar energy belong to? Only those with rooftops—or to the public as a whole?
With these questions in mind, we’ve decided to write a five-part article series.
In the coming weeks, we’ll publish the series “Five Questions Between Us and the Sun,” examining the energy transition from various angles: user costs, market tensions, policy fairness, and collective ownership.
📖 The first article will be published tomorrow:
“Who Will Shape the Future of Solar Energy? — Understanding the Conflict Between NV Energy and Solar Installers”
We’ll begin with a real-life tug-of-war that reveals how systems clash when values shift.
We invite you to read, reflect, and share this invitation with anyone who cares about energy, equity, or our collective future.
☀️ The sun shines on everyone.
The question is: can we make it truly serve the public good?
